Unlike our daily presentations, this personalised experience is tailored specifically to you. Meet up to six incredible birds, including iconic Wedge-tailed Eagles, beautiful owls, colourful parrots, cheeky kookaburras and many other fascinating species. Whether you've always dreamed of meeting Australia's largest bird of prey or have a favourite bird you'd love to spend more time with, we'll do our best to include your preferred species during your private session.
Your dedicated trainer will share fascinating insights into each bird's natural behaviour, personality, conservation and training while giving you plenty of opportunities to interact with the birds and capture unforgettable photographs. It's a truly immersive wildlife experience that's perfect for bird enthusiasts, photographers, families and anyone looking for a once-in-a-lifetime activity on Kangaroo Island.
If reptiles are more your passion, we can customise your experience to suit your interests. Choose a session with 30 minutes of birds and 30 minutes of reptiles, or enjoy a full 60-minute private reptile experience with our knowledgeable wildlife team.

To ensure every guest enjoys an exceptional experience while maintaining the highest standards of animal welfare, please read the following terms and conditions before booking.
Bookings:
Advance bookings are essential for all private experiences. Experience times are subject to seasonal availability.

Animal Welfare:
The welfare of our birds and reptiles is our highest priority. As living animals, the species participating in private experiences may vary depending on the season, weather conditions and the wellbeing of each individual animal on the day. While we will always do our best to include your requested birds or reptiles, participation is entirely at the discretion of our experienced wildlife keepers. Some birds may only fly during specific presentations or times of the day. In these cases, you may still have the opportunity to meet and interact with your chosen bird, even if it is not flying during your private experience. Every private session is unique, and regardless of which animals you meet, we are confident your experience will be an unforgettable highlight of your visit to Kangaroo Island.
Age Requirements:
Participants wishing to hold a Wedge-tailed Eagle must be 12 years of age or older. Children under 12 years of age are welcome to participate in an Owl Encounter where appropriate. Some encounters may have additional age or safety requirements.
Participant Safety:
All animal interactions are conducted under the supervision of our experienced wildlife team. For the safety of both guests and animals, all participants must follow instructions provided by their keeper at all times. Raptor Domain reserves the right to modify or cease an encounter at any time if required for animal welfare or safety. Guests who fail to follow keeper instructions may be asked to leave the experience without refund. Participation in wildlife encounters is at your own risk. While every reasonable precaution is taken to provide a safe experience, Raptor Domain accepts no responsibility for injuries sustained during participation, except where required under applicable Australian Consumer Law.
Cancellation Policy:
7 days or more before your booking: 100% refund
5–6 days before your booking: 75% refund
3–4 days before your booking: 50% refund
0–2 days before your booking: 25% refund
We strongly recommend that all guests obtain suitable travel insurance to cover unforeseen travel disruptions, including ferry or flight cancellations, severe weather or other events that may affect your ability to attend your booking.
